Exoskeleton assisted walking may improve physical and mental well-being for individuals with spinal cord injury. In addition to reports of improved body composition and reductions in pain, a recently published study revealed that between 50 and 80% of participants reported improvements in bowel function and/or management after walking in an exoskeleton.* This includes improvements with the frequency of bowel evacuations, less time spent on bowel management per bowel day, fewer bowel accidents per month, reduced laxative and/or stool softener use, and improved overall satisfaction with their bowel program.
