In Episode 16, Kathleen O’Donnell discusses the motivation and clinical insights which helped to inform the development of the ReStore Exo-Suit.
Kathleen highlights how the initial concept for the ReStore Exo-Suit stemmed from the understanding of the importance of restoring paretic propulsion to help maximize functional gait outcomes and community reintegration after stroke. Kathleen also provides an overview of some of the basic features and treatment modes of ReStore, as well as summarizes some of the early research on Exo-Suits which demonstrates the impact of exo-suit augmented gait training on both immediate and longer-term therapeutic outcomes.
